Qué Pasa?

Posted by: lubnaaa | May 5, 2009 |

For the past few days I’ve been buried in piles of books and dust (I’m not sure which pile was heavier), cleaning and organising Abah’s library. I’ve also had my computer use limited until I get the job done, which means any chance of a proper post is not going to happen in the near future. It’s just as well, since I’m in the midst of reigniting the creative spirit and I can’t very well force out words that do not belong just for the sake of quickening the process. These things can’t be rushed.

In the meantime, a few photos from today’s work.

First off, when I said library, I meant library. This here, is 1/3 of it.

Abah’s a bit of a book freak. He organises them into categories, has them labeled and numbered and keeps track of those missing and lent. For real.

Today was better than the other days because my sister and I had backup! Her friends came over to help out (tak free eh, Abah upah) which meant we managed to reach our target by the end of the day. Notice the 4 rags, each for the pile of books to be wiped carefully clean.

And of course, the motley crew. From left, Alisa, my sister, Izat. I like her friends, they’re a funny lot.

Tomorrow, our work continues.

In the words of Meryl Streep’s Miranda Priestly: “That’s all.”

Enough said here.

hey lubs, kelakar gile ur tweet yg ur dad said “NO READING and that means u lubna!”
Hahaha dulu when I used to move a lot pun, kemas buku will take forever because time tu la jumpe interesting books to read.

If that’s your dad’s office library then wow, I’m jealous. My abah’s “office” is a mousehole, with books haphazardly stacked from floor to ceiling, bookshelves bent and sagging from bearing more than what they were made to handle. And he wouldn’t entertain the idea of cleaning anything up. He actually likes it that way~

The first picture reminds me of Home. We have a wall like that (I’m gonna take a snapshot just like that one and post it when I get back!)

Is that Aufa Radzi? I think I know you.

yes, it’s Aufa Radzi.. u know me virtually or personally?

did we not go to school together?!!! maybe you remember my sister hadhinah?

Haha! My exams just finished two days ago and all I’ve been doing since then is tidying up the house like I’ve got OCD. Weird thing is it’s actually very therapeutic. Especially scrubbing toilet floors. That job just clears the mind…

hey Madihah ke??? It didn’t click until now! Coz ur pictures macam I can’t really see your face so I can’t really tell.. Anyway you’re in moscow kan? My sister Dayyinah is ther

that would be me :) yep moscow. which year is she in?

organised chaos is having its first Oprah moment! :D Maddie, meet Aufa, Aufa meet Maddie.
Oh wait, you guys already have. :)

Fa, itulah. When we actually have time to look at the stuff we have, we realise we really have a lot of good stuff kan? It takes forever to clean up. My dad hates it when I clean up my books because he always catches me reading at least 3 of them at once. lol

Maddie, it’s my dad’s collection which he stores in my MUM’S office actually. His office library is another library altogether (but also organised) and I wonder how we’d manage if we didn’t have Mum’s office to store his first collection. We certainly don’t have room for it in the house, I can tell you that! J has this lovely room, just for books and I’m guessing you must have one too? I envy that, truly, because I have to stuff my books in all nooks and crannies of the house and make sure they don’t pop out. I could never throw any of them away.
Your dad’s office sounds like a place where you put up a sign in front of the door saying: Genius At Work. Hehe, mana ada masa nak kemaskan semua kan?
And about your dad liking it messy..ironically I can never find things when I tidy up, but I always know exactly where everything is when it’s chaotic. Hence..the blog name. ;)

Pai-YOU’RE FINALLY DONE YAY!
We needs to celebrates, woman.
And I totally feel you on cleaning helping clear the mind. Cleaning’s a form of therapy for me sometimes..I don’t need to think, just do do do.

oh my sister is in the 3rd year i think. Or maybe 2nd? She’s coming back next month to do her attachment here

*sorry I can’t even remember if my other sister is in high school or primary..*

:s
