Warning: Rant Ahead.

Ladies and gents, might I ask just perhaps a tiny small miniscule favour from you when you’re out driving?

DO NOT DOUBLE PARK AS YOU PLEASE AND LEAVE THE BLOCKED PERSON LOOKING AROUND FOR YOU

Have the courtesy at least to have someone in the car to alert you while you’re away to move the car, or leave your number on the windshield, or how about keeping an eye out so that when you see the unfortunate blocked person trying to get your attention by honking the place down, you’ll know to move the friggin car?

As Mdm Wan Liza often says: Use your brains.

I had to pay the bills this morning, and I was so relieved at having found a parking place so close to TmPoint and couldn’t believe my luck when my number was called just as I was sitting down. It was crazy packed today, mind. Walking out, I saw this car, pleased as punch sitting nicely behind mine with the driver nowhere in sight.

I was a little peeved at that point, but shrugged it off and honked a few times, expecting someone to hurry out, wave apologetically and promptly remove his/her car. After the first few honks, nothing. I got a bit more aggressive and honked harder, longer (and I don’t know if this is possible but I swear it was louder too. Do honks have volumes?) but still not a peep from this effing nut.

I ended up waiting so long I was ready to smash my car against his, but I couldn’t because I love my car too much. In fact I got so mad I had to call up Kak Ateq and ask her to calm me down before I did it. I mean, who did the bugger think he was, leaving me to look around for him?! I had to get out of my car and search for the idiot but where was I to look? We were parked at a row of shophouses; he could be in any of them! I tried to keep my cool and give him the benefit of the doubt (perhaps he had an emergency?) but 15 minutes later it was too much.

I am very tempted to write out his car type and licence plate number here so that if you should spot him when you’re on the road, you’ll know, but I’m not really into the whole name ‘em and shame ‘em attack. I intend on letting it go…by ranting here.

It’s a shame he cabut-ed before I could catch up with him and give him a piece of my mind. I was looking around and spotted a man walking towards the offending car. Just then I gave chase but he must’ve sensed danger because he quickened his pace and took off in hurry.

And now here I am, still quite pissed, but I’ve managed to make Kak Ateq laugh her head off during the whole episode (I yelled a lot into the phone and although we were roomies for almost a year she’s never heard me lose it completely) so I suppose the whole emotional turmoil of the morning wasn’t a complete waste.

Just imagine if I had a court case or a client meeting though. What would happen then? I’d totally ram his car, speed off and plead temporary insanity. It’s better than getting a case thrown out on grounds that the counsel was absent without sufficient grounds, and in turn get sued by my client. A dented car would be better than a potential lost case and subsequent law suit.

See how far ahead I’m thinking?

Lesson for the day people: DO NOT DOUBLE PARK IRRESPONSIBLY BECAUSE YOUR CAR MIGHT JUST NOT MAKE IT.

Enough said here.

tmpoint kat dsara uptown ke? that area and a lot of other commercial areas r notorious for this double parking nuisance. we hv serious parking problem. tp kan, usually ppl put a little note at the windscreen detailing their number bc diorg mmg tau they’re blocking u tp they’re usually somewhere running a “quick” errand

Nope, kat Kepong because I had to settle the electricity bills at the TNB building which is near that area. Biasa I pergi uptown. It was even more menggeramkan because no one else was blocked but ME. It’s like this driver decided to particularly single me out. And no number either. If I HAD to double park I’m always anxious and looking out the window checking to see if anyone’s going out. How can people not be racked by guilt when they do it? If it was quick I can understand, ni punyalah lamaaa

hm…. :D p saya rase awk cumel bile marah cam tuh.huhu. sbb mmg xpenah tgk n dgr rumet sy cam tuh.
