I once had a very short conversation with an Arab lady who didn’t know a word of English, while I knew very little Arabic myself. A few gestures here, a few hentamed sentences there, with one winning smile, and you’re home free. I’ll be waiting for your first story on your Russian-speaking attempts. Good luck!

Closer to home, Awin? As in, someone who knows how to eat sambal tumis and can stand the smell of durian? Interesting.
Maddie, when I wondered if it was possible, lets just say I wasn’t only referring to the unwillingness of the would-be significant other. I don’t know, but I find love so much more intriguing from the outside.

I find it depressing that u guys hd set a tone to the word intelligence.

Because I dont think the video shows his intelligence. It tells the viewers that he is sensitive and open to new things but not intelligent.

If it helps, I think his discourse on ‘getting along swimmingly with Russian clowns’ is a lie. Humanity allows a universal language, but only on a shallow level of cordiality. You still need to communicate properly with someone to fully engage with them.

Intelligent? No.
Cute? OhmyGod yes.

But Lubna, I maintain, my friend has intelligence beyond his looks. So. Considerlah.

Come on now you guys, are we seriously going to have this discussion over intelligence? It was a random post and an instinctive impression of JGL.

Intelligence is relative. He might not be scholarly or well-versed in the academic matters of the world or whatever most people perceive to be intelligent.

But he’s got perspective, he speaks French, he’s articulate in voicing his thoughts, and for me, that’s enough to show a semblance of intelligent thought.

As Awin also says, he’s cute. It’s like a bonus to see such an attractive man speak well. It adds to his attractive factor. And between a professor who drones on and a normal guy who casually speaks about oh say quantum physics, it’s the latter that’s more likely to make intelligence sexy.

There are many types of intelligence, and the above is one of them. I’m not setting any one particular tone, and what you perceive as intelligent might be very different from mine. It doesn’t make mine wrong, only different.

Seriously this was just so random I can’t believe it needed an explanation. Haiyaaa chill la
