I want you to believe in life.

Down with the flu and a slight fever.

Now I’m usually all for torrential rain and cloudy days, but these daily visits from Senor El Nino’s evil half are starting to get a little tiring.

This week’s been non-stop work at home, so that’s no help either. I just really need a good rest under covers with a nice hot cup of tea with lemon and honey by my side. And I should stay away from books, for the time being.

For my music antidote, I’m going back to the basics, putting on the good stuff that never gets old:

Couldn’t find a video that didn’t have cheesy images, so this will have to do.

Some bands, no matter how far back it was when their music peaked, you’ll never be embarrassed to admit you were once a fan.

(Confession - I still get girly-excited and holler along at the top of my lungs when BSB comes on. I draw the line at Boyzone though.)

For now though…Dishwalla it is, along with whatever was cool then and semi-obsolete now. (Read: Better Than Ezra, Matchbox Twenty (pre-Rob Thomas going solo era), Jewel (girl-with-guitar era), Aqualung, The Cranberries, Goo Goo Dolls, Foo Fighters, Lene Marlin, Travis, The Corrs, Third Eye Blind, etc)

I miss the late 90s, when I didn’t know any better but had the sense to discern what was crap, and what wasn’t. My tweenie years had meaning.

And I suspect from that last sentence that the pills are now doing the talking.

Enough said here.

Addendum:
I haven’t been reading the news like you wouldn’t believe. The term ‘ignorance’ is an understatement.

I LOOOOVEEEE BSB. Always have and always will.

I recommend: Tonic - If you could only see, Live - Turn My Head, Stone Temple Pilots - Interstate Love Song..and A LOT of Richard Marx :)
I’m currently happily listening to The Cranberries Greatest Hits and Ace of Base. 90’s are the best.

I have a memory of our Company II lecture, before Mdm masuk kelas, where I heard this little shout from behind:
“BSB’s COMING TO MALAYSIA?!!”
Ingat tak? ;)
Thaaankyou for the recommendations Mardy, I’m on it. And Richard Marx! Richard Marx!
How could I forget. :)

Woman! Travis are not semi obsolete! They’re still around, and they’ve released a new album a few months ago, which has some pretty gems inside… Like Chinese Blues…which coincidentally reminded me of a BSB song when I first heard it…

Since we’re on the subject of music, I must now ramble.

I just got Snow Patrol’s new one last night. Don’t bother if you didn’t like their previous one, but there are a couple of sweet tunes on this one that stand out on the first listen… Like The Golden Floor, and The Lightning Strike. Th others all sound pretty much the same to me at the mo, and halfway through my first listen, I had to switch to the Killers’ Day & Age cuz the mellowness kinda made me want to sleep…

So try downloading the ones I mentioned yeah? heehee.

K Lubna. If you havent listened to Keane’s Perfect Symmetry (the song, not the album), then you should. Right now. If you’re going to watch the vid on youtube, don’t go for the official vid, because the song has been edited. Make sure you listen to the album version.

Very powerful song, even though it might seem a bit atheistic.

Pai (this IS Pai right? I have 2 Aisyas so I’m going to guess this is Pai), I did.

Dan…well, maybe I need to listen to it another time. Hehe. My music has gone all mellow lah Aisya, Keane’s new album makes my head a bit dizzy.

Maybe I’m getting old?

Nvm, just keep on sending tracks in. :)

But Perfect Symmetry IS mellowness and pessimism with a hint of optimism! LISTEN AGAIN… Hee…
