Tagged, you’re it.

Posted by: lubnaaa | November 12, 2008 |

If you’re like me right now, currently basking in the happiness and relief of having the next 5 weeks to recover from the horror of the past semester that officially ended yesterday, might I suggest you put on some music by The Dudes (yes, the DUDES) and get down to some serious dancing? Raise an eyebrow at the name if you must, but after this, if you need some happy music to put on, you’ll know where to go.

Right, Ely for some reason has tagged me to do a meme, which would be alright if it didn’t have a wedding theme. Since I live by the rule that once you’re tagged, you’re it, I’ll try completing this as honestly as I can before I choose the next 5 unwilling victims.

1.How old are you?
22 years old.

2. Are you single?
So it appears.

3. In what age do you think you’ll get married?
I can’t even put an estimated range, never mind an exact age.

4. Do you think you’ll be marrying the person you are with now?
And who would that be?

5. If not, who do you want to marry?
Someone I can travel the world with, and be my Imam.

6. Do you want a garden/beach wedding, or the traditional wedding?
Traditional akad nikah. No choice. And although I’ll bet there’s going to be some heavy Arab influence going on for the reception, can we jet-ski or sky-dive with the guests instead?

7. Your ideal motif?
Seriously tak tau. Something simple lah. Nothing frilly please. If my mum had kept her wedding attire, I’d wear that.

But then again, she was sooooo skinny back then. And I’m…kind of not?

8. Where do you plan to go on a honeymoon?
Somewhere where we can see the Northern Lights, please. Like Norway.

9. How many guests do you think you’ll invite?
I’ll leave that to the family. As long as the people invited are those who matter, I’m happy. But I’ve got to make sure they’re not the ones who are going to come with placards reading: “I told you so.”

10. Do you want an extravagant wedding or a simple wedding?
Simple!

11. Do you want the traditional vows or something you’d make up on your own??
Traditional lah, mana boleh you make it up?

12. How many layers of cake do you want to have?
Satu cukup, as long as it feeds everyone. If it doesn’t we’ll get another one.

13. Do you prefer having your reception at a hotel or at a simple place?
Refer to No. 6.

14. When do you want to get married, evening or morning?
Morning.

15. You’d rather have your reception outdoors or indoors?
Again, refer no. 6.

16. Do you like a grand entrance for your groom/bride?
No thank you. I have a high tendency of doing something idiotic when attention’s put on me.

18. Name the song/tune you’d like played at your wedding??
The classics: Sinatra, P. Ramlee, Andy Williams..you know?

19. Are you a morning person or a night person?
Night.

20. Do you want a solemn ceremony or a light one?
Solemn enough to respect the ceremony, but not one where everyone’s uptight. Tension kot kalau camtu.

21. What age do you want to get married?
Good question.

22. Describe your ideal husband/wife.
Someone I can imagine growing old with.

23. Do you prefer fine dining or just the normal spoon & fork/knife?
Makan tangan lah.

24. champagne or red wine?
Air bandung.

25. Honeymoon right after the wedding or days after the wedding?
Days and days. I might need some time getting used to the new status.

26. Money or household item?
Both

27. Who will pay for the bills?
Both of us, naturally.

28. Are you ready for married life?
I can’t even take care of myself.

29. Do u think you will still be a virgin until u get married?
Ye-es.

30. Will u always be true to your wife/husband
Even if I was unhappy, yes. Cheating is NEVER justified.

31. How many kids do u like?
Many, because I love them too much, and I’ll make sure they dodge the whole teenage angst thing once they grow up so that I won’t find them annoying.

32. A new house for a newly wed or an old one?
I don’t mind, as long as it makes a happy home.

33. Will u celebrate silver wedding, gold wedding, or diamond wedding?
There’s no need.

34. What kind of cuisine would u like for ur wedding?
The usual nasi minyak kot. Although I’d like some special char kuey teow for the bride alone. If not, then Mac and Cheese. Yum.

35. Will u record ur honeymoon in a cd or dvd?
I don’t think so. Photos are enough.

36. Whose wedding plans would you like to know next??? choose 5 people

1. Pai (no pressure)

2. Daad (walaupun I already know the general details, you still have to do it Didi)

3. Maddie (only if you’re free)

4. Awin (only because I know it’s the sort of thing you wouldn’t do, and because your blog is dying)

5. Fa (nak tau!)

6. Alan (be a sport ok!)

Enough said here.

You nak char kuey tiaw for your wedding? Nice…
I’ll order up one just for you, straight from Ipoh nyer.

This is YOUR fault, Els!

Yeah, I was thinking nak cater from Ipoh je terus, the char kuey teow yang really basah and all sinful, straight from the wok, gorenged to perfection.

Ok now I’m hungry.
