We live outside the touch of time.

Currently Playing: Bon Iver - Lump Sum.

A while back when Lutfi was still here, my siblings and I (sans Luqman) were walking down this long, low-ceilinged hospital corridor. Lutfi was walking ahead of us when suddenly, he wheeled around and said:

“If my friend were here right now, he’d be walking like this…” and he tilted his head to one side, cutting a slanted look. “Why do think he’d walk this
way?”

“I
don’t know, he’s just pelik that way?” I ventured, uninterested.

“Oh
come on, guess,” he prodded.

Widad
went first. “Kesiannya, is it because he’s sick? I’m guessing something’s wrong with his
neck, so he can’t lift his head properly.”

I tried next. “Is it because he’s tired of seeing everything around him from a common
point of view? He wants to see it from
another angle instead of the usual linear view, to have a different vision of things,
perhaps? I’ve heard of it before.”

Lutfi
stared at both of us for a moment.

He shook his head.
“How exactly do you guys think? I didn’t
expect those kinds of answers! Sakit? Another angle, different vision? Why are
you guys thinking so far out? I asked Luqman yesterday, and he got it right the
first time around.”

“Ok
fine, so what’s the answer then?” we demanded.

“The
answer why my friend would be tilting his head right now, is because this
corridor is low-ceilinged and he’s very tall.”

Widad
who loves drama.

Luqman
who uses logic.

And
yours truly, who clearly needs a good dose of common sense.

Enough
said here.

darling lubna..for some weird reason I imagined you lot to be a bunch of characters Louisa M. Alcott wrote..i mean could have written about.

a compliment dear. a compliment.

Somehow the looking sideways thing sounds strangely familiar…

You kids are funny.
:)

Lubna dear, I’m sorry I wont be blogging for awhile. The mind (heart?) is in a state of flux, I don’t know what I’m feeling right now. Anyway since you commented on my last post, here’s what I owe you.

1. Something random I like about you : You. Yourself. I don’t know what can get anymore random than yourself, haha.

2. A movie/song/book that reminds me of you : I know I’m not answering the question right, but the poem No Thank You John by Christina Rossetti reminds me of you.

3. Maybe one day we should go on a road trip and sing along to the songs we both love!

4. Something that makes sense only to you and me : Kindred souls! :)
5. The clearest memory of you would be that trip to Dunkin Donuts! And when we were talking about driving, you said, “I guess you would see the person next to you stomping imaginary breaks..”. Somehow that phrase “stomping imaginary breaks” sticks and I actually try to see the position of the legs of anyone sitting next to me to see whether theyre stomping imaginary breaks or not! Lol.

6. ‘We don’t see things as they are, we see things as we are’. I like this and I don’t know whether the quote is appropriate to you but no harm in sharing right? ;)
7. Something I’ve always wondered about you : I’ll be honest, I just thought of this question tadi. Would you die without finding that one person you love or would you die not achieving your ambitions?

p/s : I think your siblings are cute! Lol.

Daad:
To be characters of Alcott is joy! I could hug you right now. :)
Khairie:
It should sound familiar, where do you think I heard it from? ;)
J:
Oh wow. What a question. Well..my ambition really is to just be happy. If that includes having someone to love, then my ambition would’ve been achieved despite other things not being accomplished. And if I was accomplished and alone but I was still happy, then my ambition is realised all the same.

So. I go for the former. Or latter. :)

hahahahahahahahah

I am rendered speechless after reading this one.

=)
