“Whoever knows the worth of women and the mystery reposing
in them will not refrain from loving them; indeed, love for them is part of
the perfection of a man who knows God, for it is a legacy of the Prophet and a
Divine love.”
-Ibn Al-’Arabi
It sounds like Maya Angelou’s “A woman’s heart should be so
hidden in God that a man should have to seek Him first to find her.”
What a beautiful concept, that a man should know God first
and his purpose before seeking a woman to be his other half. It is his pursuit of Him that he finds her.
Banish the Hollywood invention that there is only one perfect soulmate in the world for
you. It might appeal to the hopeless romantic, but it’s an evil if you
eventually end up with someone else, and spend the rest of your life wondering
whether you merely settled for second best.
The hopeful romantic on the other
hand would think otherwise, and contrary to popular belief, even a headstrong
woman would follow her husband willingly if he knew how to lead the family.
It’s in my opinion that the infinitely best way to lead is to know your
obligations before God, your place in His eyes and to act accordingly.
Why am I suddenly bringing all this up? Because I intend on
having all my friends married off within a year of our graduation, which leaves
me very little time to work with.
Wahai kaum lelaki, where are you all hiding?
I aim on godmothering all their children, you see. Hahaha.
No, really.
Enough said here.
