Inilah yang dikatakan conundrum

Posted by: lubnaaa | January 25, 2008 |

Today is the day when Impossible had its head shoved into the ground.

Explosions in the Sky. are. in fact. coming to Malaysia.

Unbelievable. Mind blowing. Incredible.

How they came to know of this beloved country of ours, I’ll never figure.

The point is…they are headed our way. My way.

I’m going to be owing Azlan for a long time for this bit of news.

Now a problem presents itself to me.

I’m not used to this. This whole going out at night thing, much less to a gig/concert/whatever you call it.

And I’m feeling a tad bit uncomfortable with the location and the crowd. Generally, large numbers of people in one converged dark spot is just not my scene. Awkwardness and feeling out of place might just spoil the whole music experience.

But. It’s Explosions in the Sky. Post rock geniuses.

I can’t be satisfied alone with the fact that they’re touching the same soil and breathing the same air. I want to hear them.

Aiyo. What do I do?

To go or not to go.

That is the question I have to answer before February 19th.

For the sake of signature,
Enough said here.

I thought I couldn’t possibly love you more after the A Land Called Paradise sharing and caring session but boy. Am I mistaken or what? Seriously la Lubs-de-loop, I’ll freaking worship the ground that you walk on after this ok. Dunno how else to express how eternally grateful I am that you’re passing this information so early on. At least boleh save 20 bucks kn.

And if you asked me, obviously the answer to that supposedly conundrum of yours to is such a no-brainer YES, YES AND YES la kn. Jom la, jom la, the whole Ruums scene is so not me either (yes, to the contrary of what may have been a popular belief), I have no clue whatsoever with the whole clubbing thing. I’m not even sure where Ruums exactly is. Issit the one yg kat TGI Friday’s around the Jln P Ramlee area? Or issit kat Bangsar? Hahaha, two very much unrelated areas, I know, which stresses my whole point even more, no? = ) So yah, mari2 go gigging together sistah. Dah la I missed the We Are Scientists showcase last year (or was it two years ago) but it was at Zouk which to me, the crowd is too indigestible la. And yes, the fact that I was 18, 19-ish kinda post a bit of a prob as well ha. Come on, tix price dh la so reasonable. I think the crowd won’t be that much kot. Ramai ke org layan this band? I hope they won’t have any age limit tho. Mampuih la nk sogok bouncer or sumthin. Semput2 pun at least kena huloq an extra 50 huh.

And this “I can’t be satisfied alone with the fact that they’re touching the same soil and breathing the same air. I want to hear them” bit. I’ll use it against you if need be. Dah la lambat baca my Cineleisure invitation for Rendition ari tu kn muahaha. Yes, I’m gonna throw that to your face until we finally have a chance to talk over coffee or sumthin ; ]

Do you really think you’re going? I’m not talking bout curfews n such, but will YOU go?

you sound like you’re already exploded in the sky, pun intended.

(saya lame, haha)

oops. salah account. the above was me, terguna my sister’s .

WOMAN. PEGI LA!! Aritu We Are Scientists datang to Zouk and I REGRETTED NOT GOIN TO SEE THEM. My friend Lyn yg work kat Zouk told me ade je minah pakai tudung dtg. So nyesal aku. Bila lagi nak tengok diorg!

I enjoyed their music too!! Just go, cause it’s definitely worth it la :)

Whoa…there’s a lot of support up there. And Jannah, yes, that’s what I thought myself after I posted it. Haha. I remember We Are Scientists too, although Zouk is still too extreme for me.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I’m still considering it, because I’m a little hesitant about the place and time. Yeah Faz, apparently A LOT of people layan EITS, so the crowd…This is not meant to be offensive to the people who frequently go, but if you’ve stuck around with me, you’d understand why.

Faz, if we go, we’re going to need a trustworthy guy to ‘protect’ us. Haha. And Ely wants to go as well. Adli, mind taking care of 3 nutty girls? Lol.

Sigh.
There’s just too many conflicts.

Lubna, I won’t ask for much, really. Just a 2007 Ducati Monster S4R with high mount exhaust system.. THANKS! :P

Azlan:
What did I say? I’d pray REAL HARD. As in, include it in my solat hajat and du’a and everything. Good deal, what?

You’re welcome! Haha

LUBNAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!

YOU MUST GO!!!

Ok, you probably wouldnt have expected this from me, who vows never to enter a toe in a nightclub, and would totally blow my head off at friends who say, ‘i nak gi clubbing la’, but hear this:

I’ve been to Ruums. Yeah, it’s the one near TGIF at Jln P Ramlee. I was obliged to go to teman my sister cuz she wanted to watch So You Think You Can Dance, since she was doing the subtitles for it. The place isnt as bad as I thought, and the crowd were fine, because there was a rule- people were not allowed to pakai baju seksi, and no smoking or drinking allowed either.

And it’s not a dark place either. There are plenty of flashy lights. It’s quite a large-ish hall-type place with a stage at the front which stetches out to the middle of the room.

If you’re worried about the crowd… I mean, how bad can people who listen to EITS be? You won’t expect death-metal listeners, or clubbing-techno freaks… or wild punk addicts… right?

Come on. I wanna go. How much are the tix anyway? The more tudung-wearing girls who go, the better. :)

ps: have you ever watched like the first few rounds of shows like One in a Million, or Malaysian Idol? Those are held at Ruums… Media Prima usually hold their events there. Peterpan launched their album there last year, so it’s not as dark and scary a place as I imagined it to be before I went to see So You Think You Can Dance. The only problem I had that night was that the music was loud, which wouldn’t be a problem if it was coming from EITS. Heehee!
