All the way

Did you know that in medicine, third degree burns are the most serious of all types yet hardly hurt at all? At least, not initially. That’s because the epidermis has been completely penetrated, and the nerve endings are completely
burned. The brain hasn’t received the message yet, and so can’t respond.

It’s sort of like the state I’m in right now.

A few days after today, I might actually feel the full blow of last night’s match results. As for now though, I am going to remain oblivious to the damage.

To everyone who texted in, thanks for the active networking. I only retrieved my handphone near the end of the match though, so my apologies for my silence.

You know what? Despite how I sometimes sneak in a little jibe or two at opponent team fans, I have always given some respect where it’s due. I would have appreciated it if some had shown a little tact last night before texting. It’s not about losing this game, it’s about a show of decency.

This game was the game. I wouldn’t have minded it half so much if it was just another League game, or even a Champion’s knockout game. It wouldn’t be that bad if there was some silverware to show for this season, sans the Community Shield. In 2005, I applauded AC Milan for their play and their early dismantle of the Liverpool defence.

Last night was the FINAL of all FINALS. Frankly, it should have just been about the game, but some saw fit to send in half-baked condolences caked in glee and mockery because of their strong anti-Liverpool sentiments. And these people aren’t even real Rossoneris! "Sorry man, hahaha." That isn’t only mean and degrading, that’s just disrespectful. I think I would have preferred full-blown insults instead. At least there’s sincerity there. Come on people, have some common sense. The real Rossoneri fans last night were a lot better-behaved.

I’ll be reading the papers tomorrow. I’ll cover every detail. Yes, the Italians have exacted their ‘revenge’. And yes, I concede. Liverpool were defeated. But then, how a man wins may show something of his character, but how he loses shows all of it.

I just hope Gattuso shuts his trap before I get really tempted to beat the snot out of him. He’s just…so…bising! Tak tau tutup mulut.

But I offer, through gritted teeth, I offer my congratulations to Associazione Calcio Milan.

At times like these, all I can honestly do is to walk with the Reds through the wind and rain. I said it before. Win or lose. You walk with your Champions.

Enough said here.

Exactly. You walk with your champions. Through thick or thin, rain or sleet, night or day, then and now, etc. etc. etc.

Thats exactly why I stand by Manchester City. Stop sniggering!

If I had to dump the Gunners for another squad, it would be the Kop. I have high respect for them. They are skilled, experienced, and don’t crumble under pressure. More importantly, they play as a team and for the team. But who can help trash-talking the opponent? It’s all part of the game.

PS: 3rd degree burns don’t only hurt in medicine.

PPS: “You’ll Never Walk A…gain”

Aisya:
I have never sniggered at that fact. *chuckles*
Seriously though, I have immense respect for those who don’t just jump on the bandwagon of the season. Look at MU. In 2005, they were trophy-less, and people were abandoning the Devils ship. Now suddenly, it’s like EVERYONE’S wearing a Devils jersey. Which just goes to show that to some (TO SOME OK WIDAAD, NOT YOU) MU is just a designer football team.
This season though, the best English team won the League. I admit it, see?
Aisya, we need more purist fans like you.

Lutfi:
I know trash-talking is part of the game, but there’s a fine line that shouldn’t be crossed. There were some MU fans who were very understanding with their condolences that night. Others, they were mean with a spite. Its either they meant it, or just have no idea how serious I took this game. Clueless.

Ps. I know-lah. I meant, medically-speaking.

Pps. Yeah, yeah.
