Your addiction is ok, ’cause its manically-approved.

I confess, I was once an incurable Soundaholic. Attempts to rehabilitate myself proved futile for a few months, until i discovered the power and force of silence.

I can now proudly state that I’ve recovered and have reemerged a less-music-dependent person. I’ve gone back to being the average enthusiast.

During my dark days however, I recall a song which I couldn’t get out of my system, no matter how hard I tried. It’s one of those tracks which strikes a real chord with you because every note and word relates to your state of being at that particular time.

Every once or twice, we stumble across songs which hit too deeply to share with others because it feels too personal. Then again, it could just be a selfish-possessive streak we sometimes have because finding such songs are a rarity and you can’t give it to just anyone. Like Mardhiah said, there are certain songs we all get overprotective about because it’s worth kicking up a storm about it.

This particular song remains with me as once of those little indulgences that really can’t be resisted. I’m posting it up, not to share, but to inform that I hope I don’t spot this in any of your favourites list, because I might have the urge to hunt you down and do some damage.

Yes, I can be that selfish. ;)

The City Lights
by Umbrellas

If you see me at midnight
Walking the streets
You’ll know it was me for I cannot sleep
I’ve pushed away the dreams
And spoiled the quiet
I’m propelled by fear
And not the righteous

So have you been to a place like this?
To see your breath as it paints against the sky
The fever is near
I wish you were here

I’m thinking ambitious
I’ve got this feeling things will be alright
So go break a leg night
Been given the green light
So go entertain them
They’re waiting for you
They’re waiting for you

So have you been to a place like this?
To see your breath as it paints against the sky
Feeling so right and things will run
The fever is near
I wish you were here

Enough said here.

The term “soundaholic” is a trademark of Sony Corp. It is reserved only for the audioly challenged. (eg: me)

The most accurate definition might be “those who listen to SONY MP3S with the volume set to nothing less than max”. Those who have an ear of gold, those who can “Feel Every Sound”.

wait, sony already provided a definition. “a serious and uncontrollable craving for crystal clear sound”.

o well, close enuf.

duh. i use a sony, remember? u gave it to me!!!
