Fare thee well

Ibn Rajab once expressed his sadness at the departure of Ramadhan through this poem:

O month of Ramadan, slow down.
Tears of your lovers are overflowing.
Their hearts are about to be broken.
So, slow down, lest the last moment before going apart
calms down our pains.
Lest a man who was away from Allah can catch up with
those who are accepted.
Lest Allah sets a man who committed a lot of
sins free of his sins.
Lest Allah forgives a man who deserves hell.
O month of Ramadan, slow down.

Exactly a week ago, these were the thoughts running through my head. I did not dread the arrival of Syawal, but its impossible to not ache at the absence of a month that has given so much calmness and offered the best form of spiritual healing.

One week onwards, and God, I still miss Ramadhan.

Enough said here.
