Mention the David-Goliath match and I will bite your head off. Aku nak berkabung cuti ni. So don’t get started with me. 90th minute, ok. Sakitnya hati. As far as I’m concerned, Rio’s at the top of my Death List.

I attended my first hearing today. Nothing extraordinary, save for the part where I had a sudden glimpse into my future…if I decide to practice, that is. Or if I live that long. Realistically speaking.
Suffice to say, today began on an extremely frustrating note…and I’m not even including the traffic jam episode. The gang (Abby, Yani, Aidil, Nadiah) and I were already waiting inside the court by 9am, and by 11am, had all been reduced to a heap of tired, sleepy, grouchy people with still-empty notebooks. All that had transpired in the space of 2 hours were mentioning of cases and…more mentioning of cases. Nothing particularly Ally Mcbeal-ish, far off-base from drama. That’s real life for you. Another turn-off was the fact that all the counsels present were short of whispering to the judge. I know that ‘respect’ is the key word here, but that was ridiculous. Made me feel as though there was some kind of conspiracy going on.
Post 11am though, things began to look up. We finally got to take our notes from 2 consecutive hearings in Sessions, and will probably have to make some words up for the BM report since we couldn’t catch some words despite straining our ears like mad. Straightforward tort case, no twists and turns or the like. Highlight of the day must have been the quick interview with the counsel for the defendant later on. An attractive fellow, I must say. Such a sweet smile. Friendly. I had noticed him earlier on before the hearing. Kan Abby?
Wouldn’t mind seeing him again. Fate would have it he was an IIUM graduate.
Hmm. In fact, I’d really like to see him again. Abby, jom. =p
Enough said here.
