Positivity

The wonders of happiness can really get to you sometimes. You’re down one day, and suddenly up the next without even knowing at times what’s bringing you down or what’s pulling you back up.

And sometimes you do.

I have never been a morning person. I have tried to be one, believe me, if not for me, then to at least spare my mother the frustrating sight of seeing me still under covers at 10am, by setting my mind to a determined state and setting alarm clocks to go along with it. Never works. I am an impossible case.

And so it’s amazing how happiness can be a great source of energy to just get up and be alive. I stayed up the whole of last night, and yet here I am, awake since 8am, fresh and ready to face the world.

It’s amazing that the source of happiness simply comes from a 3am phone conversation with a dear friend whom I’ve been neglecting. Ungodly hours are probably the best hours for meaningful conversations, with no distractions or obligations. A long talk which is honest and sincere, regardless of what’s being discussed, where there is genuinity and no awkwardness brings the best feeling after you put down the phone. It’s like the contentment you get after a nice hot shower.

The source of happiness also comes from the fact that my Mighty Reds have scored their 6th consecutive victory with their 3-0 win over Wigan Athletics last night and are now 2nd on the Premier League table behind Chelsea. All this from the 13th spot, baby! How great is that? And Peter Crouch, the man whose been frustrating me with his goalless drought hit it big with 2 first-half goals in last night’s game. Rafael Benitez’s faith in him finally paid off.

And then there’s fact that I’ll be meeting my girlfriends tonight for a probable night long slumber party-cum-reunion. I miss you girls.

Of course, I won’t let optimism trick me into thinking Jamie Cullum will be coming to Malaysia any time soon to perform his incredible though adulterated jazz numbers which are so freaking catchy I swear I feel like dancing whenever he comes on air. Sigh.

But then again, there’s no harm in at least wishing it. =)

Positivity. There’s nothing like it.

Enough said here.
