Bad Day

Posted by: lubnaaa | August 17, 2005 |

Not really in the mood for writing actually. Have a lot of work (you guessed it) to catch up on, and yet again, my bodily functions aren’t responding. Practically wilting in front of this computer, but write I must because I woke up to yet another sucky day.

Lets see. It began at 2am last night after rehearsals. Trudging back to our dorms, Elyna, Kak Dina, Nadiah and myself found ourselves locked out of both colleges with the security guards missing. Bathroom break, I think not. Both guards were gone for almost an hour, and unless someone had slipped laxatives into both their drinks, I’m thinking either they’re sleeping on the job or there’s something going on between them.

We’ve been doing voice projections for the past 2 weeks, and so used them to call the guards. 15 minutes of non-stop yelling and shouting and rattling the gates, silence was all we got. Fat load of help that did us…or maybe we were doing it wrong. Elyna got so exasperated at one point she yelled ‘API!’ which would have been funny if we weren’t so tired. After almost an hour, one of the guards comes casually up to the front gate and unlocks it, not pausing to lecture us on our mistake of coming back late. Elyna almost blew her top, but we both bit back retorts and thanked him (painful as that was).

This morning, woke up late, had a horrendous stomach ache, rushed through the morning rituals before choking on my coffee and spluttering it out. It was raining cats and dogs which on normal days would have been a good thing, but, as my legs are my main mode of transportation on campus, I got soaked, nearly slipped, waded through puddles, made it to class late, couldn’t concentrate because of a headache and lastly just lost all the mood to learn today. Ah well.

It rained heavily yesterday evening too. As fun as that was, Aufa and I had to make our way back to our dorms in the rain. I think I must love my shoes and socks more than my feet…the puddles were ankle-length deep, and without thinking I whipped off both shoes and socks and walked barefoot all the way up to Nusaibah with Aufa doing exactly the same thing. It was like we were strolling along the beach…only it was in the middle of a storm. The stupid things that people do. As Rojak puts it though, ’silly things keep us young’.

Enough said here.
