Monday.
I’ve never really liked Mondays (this despite being born on one) because of the feeling that I’m starting again at the foot of a really steep hill, or in this case, the beginning of yet another hazardous week. Dread.
Before I begin, it’s Aizat’s birthday today. [Note to Aizat: In Hobbit tradition, the one who's celebrating is the one who has to give out the presents, so in case you're wondering what I want, its still the LFC scarf. 
]
Apparently, today is Friendship Day. Strange. I’ve never felt so sad on this day. It isn’t because of the lack of friends, I assure you. I have met so many good people, and have had the pleasure of being in company with some of the most beautiful individuals.
Today though, I mourn. I mourn for friendships broken, for friendships strained, for lost connections, and lost times.
It hurts. It hurts to have a friend whom you thought you were close to, to treat you differently so suddenly, to disregard your existence, to steal away with others right in front of you, making you feel insignificant and unwanted. It hurts to have to work your way into a group of people, and try to make conversation but no one’s responding, to feel like a growth on an entity of individuals, to have to actually force yourself to feel as though you belonged.
That isn’t a friendship anymore. You don’t strive to make a friendship work. Friendships just are, they don’t need any factors or variables or analysing and calculating to be strong. The hardest part is when you drift away from that friend, with no proper goodbye, no finale, no ending.
Only silence.
