The Anfield Road experience

0850-Study Room

My creative juices are doing anything but flowing at the moment…bleagh. But I haven’t updated this in a while now, and I felt I owed my readers something…LOL. Riiiiiiiiiight.

Anyway, the only thing I’d like to mention here is that my wonderful Liverpool has made it to the finals of the Champions League. A few posts ago, I had written about how they bad they were doing at the moment and how much I still supported them. Once a Merseysider, always a Merseysider. And now look what’s happened. Elation is by far a great understatement. I didn’t get to watch both legs of the Liverpool-Chelsea match due to the fact that I don’t know where the TV is in my hostel. I know, ignorance is hardly an excuse, but even if I did know, skulking around at 2.30am when I have class first thing in the morn is not my idea of a good time.

So, the one I had entrusted to inform me of all that was happening was none other than Aisya…the true Blues fan. Lol. Irony. Might as well. The first leg ended with a draw, so it was the second leg that really mattered. A big shout out to the fantastic Liverpool fans who gave a taste of what it meant to be a Reds fan to Jose Mourinho!

Anyway, on the night of the game, I was busy pacing around in my head, wondering and anticipating and worrying until I fell asleep…when I was suddenly awakened at 5am by a message from Aisya…the words ‘Liverpool won’ stood out like a rock would among pebbles. I didn’t know know what got into me, but I suddenly jolted up from bed and started cheering REALLY LOUDLY, waking up all 3 of my other roomies in the process. Lol. Yani, who was in the next bed, jolted up herself and called out my name so worriedly I felt guilty…but that didn’t register until later that morning. At that moment, all I did was clutch the phone, and waved and kicked wildly about. To end it all, mosquitoes started attacking me at that very moment so I grabbed the Shieldtox next to my bed, sprayed the air around me 3 times and dozed straight off. I can see why Yani was so wary of me later. I jolt up at 5 am, scream bloody murder, kick my arms and legs about, grab Shieldtox to give it a good spray before plopping back on my pillow without a care in the world…what an image I must have left her and Kak Syara with!

Oh, another event which I’m not particularly proud about…a giant butterfly had somehow wondered into our room the other night and had nicely settled itself on Yani’s bed. Since all my other roomies were busy yelling and laughing and STANDING OUTSIDE THE ROOM, it was up to me to be the heroine of the day. *snort* What transpired that night was anything but heroic. From what I wore, down to the way I executed my mission…I’d rather not relive the memory. The point is, I accidentally mutilated the poor butterfly. Shame was the dominant feeling of that night.

Enough said here.

Ciao. And pls, dun ever scare ur roomies like dat again! They’ll prob thing u’ have gone seriously mad and mite juz send you 2 a nut house! Lolx…

As much as I hate to admit, Liverpool has the most loyal fans: no matter how low they go and hopeless they can be the fans just could not face the reality. How’s that, huh? Is this another glaring example of “living in the past”? Dear Lubie, wake up and smell the new air of success, all the way from Chelsea, not Champions League relegation-threatened Liverpool..
p.s. as you might have guessed: unless Liverpool could play real football (i.e. both attack + defence, not defence only), I am on Milan’s side in Istanbul.. so, see you on May 25th.

I gotta agree with Aisya..Liverpool fans are goddamn loyal! It’s gud actually. My bro has been a Liverpool fan since..well..forever (but he’s a bigger Juve fan tho).Im quite glad Liverpool won..cos i seriously cant stand Jose Mourinho anymore! He’s such a soreloser aint he?Nevertheless im on Milan’s side..tho i have this feeling that Liverpool will prevail..cos one thing for sure, they’re the best at being the underdog.
