1648-AIKOL Computer Lab

Alhamdulillah. That’s all I can say. I think the test was ok. Some questions had me confused, but overall, I was pretty confident with my answers. Bundle of nerves I was, all through last night and this morning. Yani and I camped out on the floor, notes, books, files, coffee, biscuits, handphones, pillows, and blankets all spread out. Looked like an intellectual indoor picnic. Kinda fun, although most of it saw us busy panicking rather than studying itself.

Oh yeah, I got back to campus real late last night. Somehow managed to convince dad to let me drive back in the dead of the night with my brother. Had a funny experience…well, sort of, anyhow.

We were stuck in a jam on the highway because an accident had jammed the roads up. People were moving to their left to avoid the whole mishap. I couldn’t really see anything since it was a shadowy area. Anyway, I noticed that the car on my right had its engine revved up every once or twice, and was obviously trying to make some kind of statement by deliberately staying level with my car. Naturally, I turned my head as inconspiciously as I could to see what the idiot was trying to say when I was suddenly faced with 4 youths, all leering up at me. I suddenly became acutely aware of how dark it was, and how scrawny my brother was, and how ignorant I was of ANY form of martial arts. I made sure to keep my eyes fixed straight ahead, and inched forward slowly, waiting patiently for the cars on my left to give way. A few minutes later, I asked my brother to glance at the car which still stayed directly next to us, and he mentioned casually that all 4 heads were still staring at me…or us. I don’t know. All I wanted to do was to get the heck out of there ASAP. After we both got past the scene, I broke away and sped off. Big mistake. They probably thought I was challenging them…and we ended up racing instead! I think I actually felt the young, reckless blood rushing through me last night…trying to make up for all past boredoms, I gather…until rationality finally took over and I was the same old sensible Lubna again. I let them go. IDIOTS. Probably thought I had chickened out. Oh well. Better safe than stupid.

Got caught in the rain. I’m slightly soaked. Yeah, headache’s coming. I’m getting incoherent again. Incomplete sentences. Sigh. Better go back.

Enough said here.

My dear friend Sensible Lubna having a kick at road racing?!With 4 testosterone-pumped guys?!! I must have gone to live on another planet, in another period of time.. and stuck in a moment that I can’t get out of, just like the U2 song.
