Pet Peeves

Since its my hols at the moment, I’ve pretty much become the personal driver of my 2 sibs, and am pretty much subjected to their little fancies…wherever they have to go, I take them. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love driving…but too much of something good aint good for you, innit? What just GETS to me are some of the drivers on the road who have this extraordinary ability to take the piss out of me, and I mean TAKE THE PISS OUT OF ME. Yeah, I know this is Malaysia, mention KL and I’m already hearing hisses of ‘what the heck do you expect?!’ but allow me to rant because this is one thing that gets to me EVERYTIME. I don’t understand drivers who DO NOT SIGNAL when they’re making turns at junctions. It doesn’t take a lot of energy to flip the dang thing before making the turn. Why am I making a big deal out of this? Because I happen to be that pathetic driver you see waiting at junctions every time for the traffic to clear, waiting to seize that nanosecond moment where the cars aren’t speeding by to make one measely turn. I’m serious. My frustration level is already WAAAY beyond its boiling point. Tell me, how do I get past this peeve? I end up slamming the steering wheel every time and yelling like a hooligan…which probably explains why my sibs get all jumpy in the car.

Another thing is when you’re in the front of the line at a red traffic light, and the second the light turns green, cars are honking behind you to get a move on. Yeah, they really don’t give a heck whether there’s going to suddenly be a 10 wheeler who shows up out of the blue and bears down on you, as long as they’re well on their way. The only revenge you can get is by deliberately taking your time making your move, but that only sets off another horde of angry horns. What do you do? Just be the good Malaysian citizen, take the high road, grit your teeth and move along.

I’m waiting for mum and my brother to come home from their business trip in Kelantan. Heh, my brother is only 17 and has too much time on his hands at the moment, so he’s become mum’s personal assistant. 28 Days Later was the movie for today…and I have to say, seeing London completely empty like that was amazing. I really admired the shots. Of course, Cillian Murphy was another attraction, but that’s another story.

Liverpool-Juventus match is on. What am I doing here?

Enough said here.
